As Erian El Hoyte sits in his cell awaiting execution, darkness begins to consume him and his sanity. 

Voices tear at his every fiber. A sound that is terrible and rings out, screaming of metal grinding metal. They ask him. Pry him as to how he brought down the Sky Vessel and what madness drove his people to wage war on the sky.

So Erian El Hoyte sits and recites his life story, recounting how a once young lordling ended up surviving and finding his god-the All Being-on the streets of Sho'lo. He tells of his journey to the top of Ptarmigans Steeple, how he defended the realm as the Princes Page, and when he brought down the Sky Vessel. 

As the world teeters on the brink of collapse, Erain El Hoyte shares the chaos he created, and how he sparked the bloodiest rebellion in history brought on by his Manifesto.

Raymond is the Chief Officer of the Friotan Military Operation for the Planetary Union. Wed to a local tribal princess, he struggles with maintaining a relationship with his daughter and wife, while also progressing his career. It is a continual struggle to respect and protect the dying native Friotan customs, all the while assimilating them into the Planetary Union's domain.    

Shea, Raymond's daughter, is apt to reject the imperialistic power of the Planetary Union and is quick to dismiss her mixed heritage and defend her home planet. Raymond both respects her and her peoples' ways, but knows the planet's inevitable fate.  

Raymond is in a precarious position; protecting the Planetary Union's treaties and norms, whilst also maintaining their economic interests, but at what cost? 

Shea must dispel the doubt of her tribal community, and defend the dying Friotan, but at what end?
